EVEREST BASE CAMP

Every hiker’s dream! The cheerful village of Namche, the Kumbu valley, Ama Dablam, the sunrise over Kala Pathar!

The trek is structured with a 11-day walk starting and ending in Lukla where you will fly in from Kathmandu. A few days in Kathmandu are planned at the end of the trek, but these days could serve as a safeguard for possible extensions of the trek due to unforeseen hitches in the trek or slips in the return air flight from Lukla. If there are no problems these days can be used to visit the capital, its UNESCO heritage squares and temples.

The trek will travel clockwise in a loop from Namche, a hub of caravan and tourist routes, where we will have a chance to acclimatize, and will have an appendage to Everest Base Camp and KalaPatar  at over 5,000, in environments one different from the other.

Upon landing in Lukla, we will put on our boots and hand over our luggage to the porters so that we keep only the day pack at all times; then we will set off on our trek following the valley northward. After acclimatizing in Namche we will definitely climb in altitude to reach, its fantastic first view of Cho Oyu. We will then descend to Gokyo where we can visit the enchanting periglacial lake and enjoy the incredible view of the Ngozumba glacier that divides Nepal from Tibet. After crossing it, and then descend until we enter the Kumbu valley with its very famous glacier, the access route to the highest peak in the world. We will ascend the valley to base camp to gain the amazing view of Everest and a small peak, Kala Patar at elevation 5545, which faces Everest and from which the sunrise will be a stunning sight. We will then descend the Kumbu valley lapping the very long moraine. here only descent, first to Namche and then to Lukla, leaving behind the impressive number of peaks over 6000 m and the beautiful Ama Dablam.
