DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01. Arrival in Islamabad and transfer to Skardu (2,228m/7,310ft) by plane or Chilas (1,372m/4,500ft) by car
After arriving in Islamabad you will either take a scenic flight to Skardu or, if you’re traveling by road, embark on a journey to Chilas by car. If you choose the flight, you’ll experience breathtaking aerial views of the mountainous landscapes as you make your way to Skardu. Alternatively, if traveling by car, the drive through the Karakoram highway offers a thrilling adventure, passing through picturesque valleys and rivers. Once in Skardu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and a rest. Presentation of the staff, briefing with the guides and verification of the equipment.

Day 02. Skardu (2,228m/7,310ft): sightseeing or Chilas (1,372m/4,500ft) to Skardu (2,228m/7,310ft) by car
If you’re in Skardu, you explore its beautiful surroundings, including the famous Shangrila resort, the mesmerizing Shigar fort, and the peaceful Satpara lake. Alternatively, if you’re traveling from Chilas, the drive to Skardu will offer stunning views as you pass through lush valleys and the rugged terrain of the Karakoram mountains.

DAY 03. Skardu (2,228m/7,310ft) to Askole (3,050m/10,000ft) by car
Embark jeeps for a full day ride on a winding jeep trail to Askole, the last habitation on our way to the great glaciers. Highest in the region, the stone & timber abodes contain dark and ​​narrow stairwells riven by gloomy, unlit alleys cluster within the embrace of the fertile terraces.

DAY 04. Askole (3,050m/10,000ft) to Jhula (3,200m/10,500ft), 5-6 hours
You begin your trek from Askola ascending to Jhula. As you trek through this remote and scenic terrain, you’ll pass through rocky paths and rugged landscapes, getting closer to the heart of the mountains. The journey promises magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, with the sound of rivers and winds adding to the serene atmosphere. Upon reaching Jhula, you’ll set up camp, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the wilderness.

Day 05. Jhula (3,200m/10,500ft) to Paiju (3,505m/11,500ft), 5-6 hours
The route takes you through lush valleys and across glacial streams, offering spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks above. As you continue your ascent, the beauty of the Karakoram range unfolds before you. Once you arrive at Paiju, a peaceful, isolated camp, you’ll have time to rest and enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the mountains surrounding you.

Day 06. Paiju: acclimatization day
This important day is spent resting and relaxing around Paiju, taking short walks in the surrounding area, and ensuring that you’re well-prepared for the challenges of the higher altitudes ahead. Acclimatization days are crucial for preventing altitude sickness and ensuring a smooth progression on your trek. The serene environment will give you time to reflect and recharge for the upcoming adventures.

DAY 07. Paiju (3,505m/11,500ft) to Urdukas/Khuburse (3,962m/13,000ft), 6-7 hours
After an early breakfast, begin your trek from Paiju, crossing the junction of the Paiju and Baltoro glaciers. The route takes you through crevasses and across rocky terrain, with a lunch break below Liligo, a traditional camp site nestled beneath the muddy cliffs, offering great views of the surrounding rock spires. In the morning, you will cross the Khuburse torrent and continue across two glacier moraines. Finally, you’ll arrive at the grassy slopes of Urdukas, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Trango tower, Uli Biaho tower, and the Bial groups.

Day 08. Khuburse (3,962m/13,000ft) to Urdukas (4,115m/13,500ft), 3-4 hours
The path takes you through stunning alpine scenery, with views of the towering peaks and the tranquil landscape. Urdukas offers a peaceful camp setting with dramatic vistas of the surrounding mountains, providing the perfect place to relax and reflect on your journey so far.

Day 09. Urdukas (4,115m/13,500ft) to Goro-II (4,420m/14,500ft), 6-7 hours
This day takes you on a long, scenic trek across the icy Baltoro glacier. The route will also see you traverse the Yermanandu glacier, which flows down from the majestic Masherbrum and joins the Baltoro. As you walk, enjoy magnificent views of the Muztagh tower, Mitre peak, and Gasherbrum IV, creating a dramatic backdrop throughout your journey. You’ll arrive at Goro-II, a high-altitude camp, where you’ll rest overnight amidst breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks.

Day 10. Goro-II (4,420m/14,500ft) to Concordia (4,000m/13,123ft) 5-6 hours
After an early breakfast, you will resume your trek on the Baltoro glacier towards Concordia, a remarkable point where the Baltoro, Abruzzi, and Godwin-Austen Glaciers converge at 4,000m/13,123ft. This area is renowned for its stunning panoramic views, with over 39 peaks towering above 6,500m within a 15-kilometer radius. Among these are four peaks over 8,000m, including the iconic K2. The 360-degree view at Concordia is one of the most breathtaking panoramas on Earth. You will arrive at your camp, surrounded by the towering peaks.

Day 11. Concordia (4,000m/13,123ft) to K2 base camp (5,000m/16,404ft) and Broad peak base camp and back to Concordia, 7 hours
Today is dedicated to an exciting day trip to the K2 base camp. After an early breakfast, you will set out for a strenuous 7-hour round trip, walking up to the K2 base camp. This journey takes you through rugged terrain, offering unparalleled views of K2 and the surrounding peaks. The trek is challenging but rewarding, as you stand at the foot of one of the world’s most formidable mountains. After exploring the base camp, you’ll return to Concordia for the night. Please note, crossing the Gondogoro La pass is weather-dependent and subject to the availability of a rope-fixing team. If conditions are unfavorable, the return will be via the same route.

Day 12. Concordia (4,000m/13,123ft) to Ali camp (4,724m/15,500ft), 5-6 hours
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart from Concordia for Ali camp, crossing several side glaciers along the way. The route takes you through rugged terrain, and after approximately two hours, you’ll reach the Vigne glacier. Depending on the snow conditions, you may have the option to walk directly on the glacier, which is generally easier than the stony path on the right side of it. You’ll reach Ali camp, where you’ll rest for the night, preparing for the ascent to Gondogoro La.

Day 13. Ali Camp (4,724m/15,500ft) to Khuspang (4,595m/15,090ft), 7-8 hours
Today begins with an very early start, often around 2 or 3 am, to begin the climb to the Gondogoro La at 5,700m/18,700ft. The purpose of starting early is to take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures, when the snow is firmer and you can ascend more easily. As the day progresses, the snow softens due to the sun’s heat, increasing the risk of instability, including the potential for icefalls or avalanches. After a strenuous trek, you will reach the top of Gondogoro La and descend to Khuspang, where you’ll spend the night under the shadow of the magnificent Laila peak.

Day 14. Khuspang (4,595m/15,090ft) to Saicho (3,819m/12,530ft), 6-7 hours
After breakfast, we begin your descent from Khuspang, heading toward Saicho, a beautiful campsite. The route offers stunning views as you make your way down through the rugged terrain and alpine scenery. You will cross glaciers, rocky paths, and scenic valleys before reaching Saicho, where you’ll set up camp and rest for the night.

Day 15. Saicho (3,819m/12,530ft) to Hushe (3,219m/10,550ft) and to Skardu by car
Hushe is a picturesque village nestled in the stunning landscapes of the Karakoram range. From Hushe, you’ll be transferred by car to Skardu, a scenic town in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The drive offers views of rivers, valleys, and mountainous terrain. Once in Skardu, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the local surroundings.

Day 16. Skardu to Islamabad by plane or to Skardu to Chilas (1,372m/4,500ft) by car
You’ll have the option to either take a flight from Skardu to Islamabad or travel by car to Chilas, depending on your preference and weather conditions. If you choose to fly, you’ll enjoy spectacular aerial views of the mountains, valleys, and rivers as you make your way to Islamabad. Alternatively, a scenic drive to Chilas offers a more adventurous option, taking you through the stunning Karakoram highway.

Day 17. Chilas (1,372m/4,500ft) to Islamabad by car or Islamabad sightseeing
You will either drive from Chilas to Islamabad or enjoy a day of sightseeing in Islamabad. If you choose to travel by car, the drive will take you through scenic landscapes along the Karakoram highway, eventually reaching Islamabad in the afternoon or evening. Alternatively, if you remain in Islamabad, you can take a relaxing day to explore the city’s key attractions, such as the Pakistan monument, Rawal lake, and the vibrant markets.

Day 18. Final Departure
You will have breakfast and you will be free until your departure. A representative will take you airport for your final departure.
